We use operant conditioning in our training programs. “Operant conditioning is a process that attempts to modify behaviors through the use of positive and negative reinforcement.”

 

Through operant conditioning, a dog makes an association between a particular behavior and a consequence. In most cases when we can, we utilize purely positive to train canines but this is not always the most effective method. However, we use as much motivation to get canines to perform the tasks we ask of it.

 

We also use classical conditioning to mold certain behaviors.
